It’s no secret that I am a fan of comic books. It’s also not a secret that I’m not one for Batman. I’ve never really liked Bruce Wayne all that much yet he does come across some of the most interesting villains in the comic universe. One who I’ve always loved is Harley Quinn, a kooky villain obsessed with the Joker and friendly with Poison Ivy. As this is a food blog, I’m sure there are more than a few of you that I’ve lost at this point, so I won’t delve into her backstory here. I will, however, say that she is currently featured in her own solo comic where she gets into all kinds of craziness. She’s insane, but in a fun way, and some of my favorite lines from her come when she’s scarfing down food. So, this month’s book quotes come from various issues of her series. I hope you enjoy them, and if not, feel free to go back to the quotes I featured from Andy Cohen or Oscar Wilde to get your laughs that way!

“If there’s nuttin’ ta eat on this island, I might haveta eat those other survivors. That would suck, but it’s them or me. I don’t wanna eat humans, but I bet with enough salt and pepper, it wouldn’t be that bad.”

“I had a cheeseburger once that was sandwiched between two donuts and then deep-fried in batter. I swear I saw God when I bit into that.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“It’s either a gigantic pizza or the biggest horta I eva seen.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Mmmm, spiked eggnog. It’s like the cream a’ Christmas in a spoon!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Harley: “The only place open around here on Christmas eve is a Jewish deli…”
Santa: “What luck! It’s my favorite food, and I owe these great people for making my job easier each year!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Once ya get past all the gentrifyin’, an’ the gajillion banks an’ drug stores an’ coffee shops, there really is a magic ta the place ya can’t get anywhere else.”

On that cheery note, I’ll leave you with a suggestion of checking this book out if you enjoy zany comics and a promise that next month’s quotes won’t be coming from a comic book if this wasn’t your thing.
