At 27, I am halfway through law school…and blogging less than ever. My life mostly around books during the week and eating during the weekend. If you are new to my blog, here are some things to know about me:
- I’m guaranteed to bring up my year abroad on this blog a few times a year. I am fine with bragging about it in order to relive some of those memories.
- I write a lot about wine, but there are roughly a thousand wine blogs out there which are better than mine. I’m a twenty-something stumbling my way through the world of wine, and that’s what this blog is all about- my discovering new things and hopefully keeping you interested along the way!
- Despite my love of simple gin and tonics, I am somewhat competent at creating cocktails- although you will see that I shake my martinis more often than not (I blame my mother).
- I didn’t realize that when I named this blog that everyone hates the word foodie. As it is, the name is staying.
On a more serious note, to me food is exciting, constantly changing, and its own art form that can continually surprise and satisfy. Some of my favorite things are duck, red wine, and all things dessert. If there’s a sticky toffee pudding on a menu, I am guaranteed to order it. Although most of these things are fairly common foods to come across, I also love exploring foods that most people wouldn’t even think to try, such as duck hearts or lamb brain. I don’t love everything, but I will try just about anything. The only thing I’ve outright turned down was a lamb’s eyeball…but that’s a story for a different day.
Outside of food and travel, I’m obsessed with comic books, Doctor Who, Christmas, and dresses. You can follow me on Instagram, where I share a number of pictures that don’t end up on this blog, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or Pinterest.
Barrett’s is one of our favorite restaurants!
I’m glad you liked it as well! I was really impressed with it all.
